Blizzard's World of Warcraft: Forever launches today, Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 3 p.m. Pacific. It is a simultaneous release around the globe. PC Gamer lists the start as 6 p.m. Eastern and 11 p.m. in the UK.

Forever is a version of Azeroth "anchored in WoW's first age," with new and expanded zones including Zephras Isle, the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal. It adds more than 1,000 new quests, new dungeons, a new playable race called the Skyborne, and the Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman combinations. All classes and specializations get revamps. It also brings an account-wide Legacy system, a Camping system and improved lighting.

The game is included with an active WoW subscription and runs on Windows and Mac. The Skyborne race and the Zephras Isle starting questline require the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher edition. Invite-A-Friend codes give eligible invitees access from Nov. 4 to 11.

Microsoft's Xbox Wire says Forever supports controllers through a feature labeled Gamepad (Alpha), which players switch on in the options menu.
